YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):

If you have an eye for detail, cleanliness, and are passionate about leading a team, then this job is for you. You will be responsible for maintaining Virgin Hotel's high standards of cleanliness in supervising the cleaning of guest rooms. You will also be required to communicate, coordinate and work well with other teammates, managers and guests. Even more so, we expect you to be aware of your surroundings and notice/anticipate guest needs in order to engage the guest to let them know that you are there to take care of them with your genuine and "go the extra mile" service. You can also do this by training the room attendants and everyone else in your team as much as possible. Your teamwork and willingness to help others will be on display as you help your fellow teammates and room attendants in inspecting and at times cleaning the rooms. Most of all, we want you to have FUN since you play a huge role in creating that memorable guest experience!

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

This role will work closely with Manager and or Director of Housekeeping to:
  • Assign work to room attendants and train associates in housekeeping duties
  • Inspect rooms to make sure that they are up to Virgin Hotels standards of cleanliness
  • Assist throughout department as needed, this may include cleaning rooms
  • Help conduct linen inventories
  • Help control department costs
  • Communicate with other departments any problems that need attention
  • Complies with the key policy established by the company
  • Communicate with manager any safety issues
  • Ensure safety and hotel policies
  • Helps log "lost and found" items at the end of the shift to security
  • Report to designated shift in assigned attire
  • Motivates team to establish positive guest and associate relations
  • Complete a manager's request within reason
  • Follows all company policies
  • Report to designated shift in assigned attire on time (if applicable)
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights.
  • Additional tasks assigned by manager

MUST HAVE'S
  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Preferred: Additional foreign language

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
  • Requires knowledge of the various positions within the Housekeeping Department
  • Comfortable using technology as a tool
  • Able to stand for a minimum of eight hours a day
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching
  • Performs the same task repeatedly

THE WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires:
  • Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is a pet friendly property. You may come into direct contact with pet dander and hair
  • Strong eye/hand coordination
  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols in English
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures, job description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying noise levels, the severity of which depends upon work volume
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander/hair.
  • Effectively and efficiently move from floor to floor as needed
  • Ability to scrub and scour different surfaces using the appropriate tools
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and wiping
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods. Proper protection is provided
