Description of Duties:
This is a progressive internship that requires a 12-month commitment.
The intent of this internship is for the individual to develop experiences and skillsets needed to complete basic cybersecurity tasks and to work on complex tasks with little to no supervision. Successful completion of this internship will prepare the individual for a Junior Cybersecurity RMF Engineer position.
The
Cybersecurity RMF Internship
supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

Work under a mid or senior-level cybersecurity engineer to learn and apply their understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and guides, such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Risk Management
·
Framework (RMF) and/or the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to specific systems managing and improving their cybersecurity posture.
·
Collaborate with project stakeholders and technical teams to identify and prepare Cybersecurity artifacts.
·
Review and validate all relevant Security Controls and/or applicable departmental policies.
·
Develop and maintain Documentation.
·
Develop and maintain Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system.
·
Integrate with team members and accomplish assigned tasks.
·
Be assigned a mentor and obtain initial familiarity with existing cybersecurity processes and tools.
·
Assist in troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues independently and/or with the help of teammates.
·
Assist with other applicable Cybersecurity tasks.
The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate their passion for Cybersecurity.
·
Demonstrate a basic understanding of Cybersecurity best practices.
·
Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
This is a progressive internship that is expected to have a duration of 12 months from start date
Work schedule will typically be Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm. Work schedule could vary depending on mission requirements.
