Travel RN - PCU 8th West 48's
Shift:
Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x4, 48hrs per week, will accept 36hrs
Length:
13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.
Requirements: NC License 1 Year Experience BLS ACLS IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias skills required NIHSS preferred Target Ratios: 1:4-5 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients) In extreme situations the unit will go to a 1:6 ratio.
Float Requirement: required to float to like units.
Traveler Experience: Unit will accept 1st time traveler
Patient Population: COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE's
Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
Scrubs: white or navy blue

Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year required.
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPTS 1st time traveler.

Skills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.
Certs: ACLS, BLS
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: NIHSS
JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:4-5 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients) In extreme situations the unit will go to a 1:6 ratio.
*36 - 48 hrs can be offered. OT will be offered after 48 hrs has been reached.
Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
12 HOUR NIGHTS

Float Requirement: required to float to like units.

Patient Population: COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE's.
***Patient population currently includes care for COVID-19 patients, including those who have tested positive.***
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3:1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach/vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA's are a 9-10:1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP. Many have comorbidities as well as telemetry monitoring.
