The Staff Accountant position primarily involves handling accounts payable duties and supporting the finance department in various tasks related to all real estate and property management responsibilities, as well as Team Recovery Treatment Services. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions within the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains the relative company financial reports and books in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls as approved by leadership.
- Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) process by accurately processing vendor invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements.
- Ensure all AP transactions are properly documented, approved, and coded in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to address payment inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
- Assist in month-end financial closing activities, including preparing AP-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
- Ensures purchase orders are completed with appropriate approvals, in compliance with policies/procedures.
- Works closely with CFO and leadership related to month-end and year-end reporting.
- Collaborate with the CFO to assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization with regards to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide insight and recommendations for planning and organization of short-term and long-term growth and goals.
- Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information.
- Evaluate departmental structure for efficiency and effectiveness, recommending process improvements as needed.
- Provide financial guidance and analysis to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement, implementing policies, procedures, and processes as appropriate.
- Develop and report KPIs that enhance the focus and performance of the finance organization and business units.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of real estate and property management based accounting preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Certified Public Accountant (preferred).
