Staff Accountant

LHH has partnered with a super exciting food and beverage company in Montgomery County, MD to identify a Staff Accountant! This role will join a robust and dynamic team of accounting professionals and will have the opportunity to handle various tasks and experience professional growth along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and complete financial reporting and other reporting requirements, such as maintenance of the general ledger, payables invoicing, and month-end close.
  • Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements (Balance sheet and Income Statement) and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing month-end/quarter-end/year-end schedules and journal entries.
  • Assist with reconciliations on balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare weekly reports and analysis for review (AP/AR aging's, weekly sales reports, etc).
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of yearly audits and financial management reports.
  • Process payroll, verify documentation and postings, and reconcile payroll sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Keep management informed of financial status and developments within the company's financial structure.
  • Improve job knowledge by keeping up-to-date with new financial regulations and accepted practices, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay Details: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour
