Job Title: Staff Accountant

Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Staff Accountant to join our expanding team. Initially, this role will focus on Accounts Payable (AP) responsibilities, with the potential to transition into broader accounting functions as our processes evolve. You will contribute to month-end close, account reconciliations, and provide cross-functional support for the accounting team.

Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Staff Accountant to join our expanding team. Initially, this role will focus on Accounts Payable (AP) responsibilities, with the potential to transition into broader accounting functions as our processes evolve. You will contribute to month-end close, account reconciliations, and provide cross-functional support for the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (Initial Focus):
- Process and manage vendor invoices, including payments to independent contractors, until these responsibilities transition to Payroll.
- Maintain accurate AP records and ensure timely payments.
- Process weekly vendor payments and calculate the anticipated bank balance before fund transfers to ensure sufficient funding for payment releases.
- Set up vendors and retrieve all necessary documentation for payment processing, such as ACH information and W-9s. This responsibility will remain part of the role regardless of process automation.
- Manage AP processes for affiliate vendors, including tracking and ensuring compliance with the 'pay when paid' schedule.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Cross-train and provide backup support for cash posting, cash application, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Support the Senior Accountant and VP of Finance with data cleanup, entry, and other tasks as needed.
- Assist with preparing reports and documentation to support the annual audit process.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for reconciliations and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and Operations, to support accounting and financial reporting needs.
- Create ad hoc reports and analyses to address dynamic business needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve processes, ensuring scalability as the organization grows.
- Support efforts to maintain compliance and improve accuracy in record-keeping.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on AP or general ledger.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn new processes and systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proactive and flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
