Position Summary

Bay Football Club (Bay FC) is looking for a Director of Social Media to help improve our brands and create revenue opportunities through various social media platforms. In this role, you will strategically develop and execute social media strategy and content creation to build brand equity for the Bay FC and positively disrupt the sports digital media landscape. You will partner closely with the broader Marketing and Content teams, and cross-functionally, to lead the development and execution of strategic social media plans. This position reports to the VP of Brand Marketing and will have 1-2 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute social media strategy for Bay FC to drive fan engagement and revenue opportunities
  • Plan, program and execute key social media platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, video (YouTube)/audio sites, etc.
  • Serve as an exceptional leader and collaborator with internal teams, external partners and the NWSL to consistently provide updates on trends, best practices and content strategies
  • Develop best-in-class content and storytelling, highlighting the Bay FC Brand and players to national and global audiences
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships and other internal departments to build all social media content creation, campaigns, and calendars to achieve the organization's and partners' marketing goals
  • Lead gameday coverage for all home and away matches (includes weekends and evenings)
  • Partner with Growth and Retention on paid campaigns that overlap between brand and advertising
  • Lend your expertise on the evolving social media landscape, staying informed on all product updates; build strong relationships with account leads at Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X
  • Manage a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years in digital media with experience leading social media strategy and driving implementation/execution; 2 years of people management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Drupal and Photoshop, as well as in HTML and CSS coding
  • Expert knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms; ability to influence conversation based on knowledge and expertise
  • Deep understanding of the game of soccer and the team including game day events, statistics and other updates
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service and resolution skills
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment


Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $120,000-$135,000. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

Bay FC is the first NWSL team in the Bay Area. Co-founded by four U.S. Women's National Team legends-Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne-in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street, Bay FC is changing the face of women's soccer as we know it.
