Job Developer, Center Point, Inc., seeks Job Develop (Oakland, CA) Under the direction of the DRC Program Director, the DRC Job Developer is responsible for providing vocational and life skills training services, assessment of vocational needs, and vocational case management services to DRC program participants. Responsibilities:

Acts as primary liaison with potential employers and vocational services providers. Conducted business community outreach to develop jobs for DRC participants; maintained job bank for current and potential employers. Facilitates job readiness workshops and Life Skills groups utilizing CDCR/DAPO-approved curricula. Assists participants in developing resumes, job search, and job retention skills. Assists participants in developing essential life skills required for the workplace. Assists in collecting data for submission of monthly and other time-specific reports related to vocational and life skills training services. Utilizes best practices to enhance the quality of vocational and life skills training services to participants. Provide input to the Multi-Disciplinary team regarding incorporating vocational and life skills needs on participant ITPs; Develop Vocational Services Plans (VSP) with each DRC participant. Conducts vocational skills, abilities, and interests assessments; Assists participants in identifying and articulating vocational goals and objectives. Assists participants in identifying and facilitating barriers to employment. Assists participants in identifying and enrolling in vocational training and academic programs. Conduct interviews with participants for potential community employment and training opportunities. Provide orientation to DRC participants regarding available DRC vocational services. Documents vocational services in participant records. Monitors Community-based employment activities; Maintains contact with current employers of DRC participants as needed. Coordinates job fairs, employer presentations, and other events relative to employment. Provide culturally sensitive weekly individual supervision to the Life Skills Development Case Manager for caseload review, skills development, and job retention. Assists Case Managers in the development of program Information, Referral, and Resources Guide for community reintegration. Develop resources for obtaining critical items essential to obtaining employment (identification and social security cards, job search clothing, training, driver's license, union cards and fees, etc.). Researches and utilizes information regarding employer incentive programs that benefit DRC participants. Provides information to participants regarding workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, ethics, and other issues that enhance employment longevity. Attends and refers participants to local PACT events to develop resources. Attends meetings and trainings as directed by the DRC Program Director. OAKLAND DRC JOB DEVELOPER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A high school diploma and a minimum of one year experience working in the social services field in a relevant position. A minimum of one year of paid experience providing employment or vocational training. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must pass the CDCR clearance process. Comply with applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of California. TB test. Ability to promote culturally appropriate and gender-responsive services Job Type: Full-time 8 hours Monday-Friday Pay $29 per hour
