(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (Child and Adolescent) - A Federal Qualified Health Center that provides an array of healthcare services through several medical sites, dental sites, optometry practices and school-based clinics is seeking a child & adolescent psychiatrist.


The Psychiatrist provides direct psychiatric care, evaluation, and psychopharmacology treatment to Health Center patients as well as providing psychiatric consultation with medical providers, mental/behavioral health clinicians, case managers, and other employees specified by assigned supervisor. The Psychiatrist is a member of the clinical practice team and works collaboratively with other team members in providing patient care.


As part of the team-based approach to care, the Psychiatrist will participate in coordinating care for individual patients, support patients and families in self-management through evidenced-based approaches as may be appropriate, engage in health center projects that are aimed at specific patient population needs, and utilize effective and appropriate communication strategies, such as health literacy approaches when working with patients.


Confer with Psychotherapists on an as needed basis regarding mental/behavioral health issues of patients. The Psychiatrist will treat some adult patients as well. Confer with other community providers on an as-needed basis. Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement Activities and other administrative projects. Provide clinical supervision to mid-level psychiatric provider(s) and psychiatric nurse(s) as assigned by supervisor. Complete paperwork submitted by patients to fulfill requirements for schools, welfare, disability, and other social service agencies or agencies of the court.


Candidate must be board certified or intend to be board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry.
