Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator I

Salary Range: $50,278.95 - $63,968.87

Under close supervision and direction performs a variety of simple to routine tasks involving the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of roads, water and wastewater systems, drainage systems, and other infrastructure facilities and associated apparatus and equipment.

Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator II

Salary Range: $54,144.93 - $68,887.47

Under general direction performs a variety of the routine and complex work involving the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of roads, water and wastewater systems, drainage systems, and other infrastructure facilities and associated apparatus and equipment.

Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator I

This is an entry-level and closely supervised position in the Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator series. The class is distinguished from other classes in the series by the level of experience, skills, and independence and decision making.

Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator II

This is a fully competent level position receiving general supervision in the Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator series. The class is distinguished from other classes in the series by the level of experience, skills, and independence and decision making.

Minimum Requirements for Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator I and II

1. Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is:

• High school diploma or equivalent; and
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience with road, aboveground and underground utilities, and facilities maintenance, construction, and repair; or
• A combination of experience and education necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Requirements for Maintenance Worker-Heavy Equipment Operator II

1. At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience with road, aboveground and underground utilities, and facilities maintenance, construction, and repair.
