The HR Generalist provides strategic and hands-on support of the HR department including recruitment, onboarding, employee & labor relations, benefit administration, training, payroll, etc. The HR Generalist will also partner with company and union leadership to help drive business solutions.


HR Generalist Role & Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Hiring: Posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and making hiring recommendations
  • Onboarding: Developing and delivering new employee orientation programs, processing paperwork, and assisting with initial set-up of benefits and access to systems.
  • Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, investigating complaints, and providing guidance on company policies.
  • Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits plans, including enrollment, changes, and communication regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Training and Development: Identifying training needs, coordinating training programs, and delivering employee development opportunities.
  • Compliance Management: Ensuring adherence to employment laws, including federal and state regulations regarding discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour compliance.
  • Payroll Processing: Assisting with payroll administration, including data entry and ensuring accurate compensation calculations.
  • Employee Communications: Creating and distributing internal communications regarding company updates, benefits changes, and important announcements.
HR Generalist Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability couples with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills and strong ability to prioritize tasks.
