Job Description

The Water Sports Assistant Instructor is responsible for assisting with the operation of the water sports activities in a safe and appropriate manner. He/she must conduct all activities according to the Q Adventure Standard & Operation Guidelines. The Water Sports area must be cleaned and tidy, and all equipment must be maintained and secured in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.

The employee assists skilled professionals in the performance of their work and will work under the close supervision of senior staff.

  • Strictly comply with the hotel policies regarding the provision of water sports facilities to the guests in accordance with the Safety Regulations outlined by the concerned Government entities.
  • Attend to the guests coming for water sports activities immediately.
  • Answer telephone calls within three rings or fifteen seconds with appropriate greetings, mentioning the person's name and department, and offering assistance.
  • Assist the instructors in all activities at the water sports center.
  • Plan and manage boat trips, catamaran sailing excursions, etc., in accordance with the Standard Operation Guidelines.
  • Work towards promoting sales.
  • Maintain the materials, machinery, other equipment, and consumables properly at the center.
  • Attend weekly meetings conducted by the water sports in-charge.
  • At all times, observe the safety and security of the guests.
  • Assist and conduct practical courses in the absence of the instructor.
  • Manage and conduct daily maintenance services for motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  • Report to the base leader about faulty equipment, problems, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and sincerely.
  • Update watersports administration software and other required reports and records.

Qualifications

  • Boat Captain License
  • Two years of experience in the Water Sports field
  • Experience in a related field will be an added advantage.

OR

  • Basic Emergency First Response License
  • Basic Surf Rescue - SLSA
  • Wind Surfing Basic License - VDWS/RYA
  • Sailing Basic License - VDWS/RYA
  • GCE A level or Diploma in Business Management or Marine Biology
