About Our Client: Our client in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable HR Generalist to join their team. This role will support various HR functions, including compliance, HRIS management, recruitment, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and experience in employee relations and HR operations.

Job Description: The HR Generalist will handle multiple HR responsibilities, from managing compliance and recruitment processes to supporting employee relations and performance management. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth HR operations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance: Assist with EEO Reporting, Affirmative Action Plans, and employment law research; handle unemployment requests and employment verifications.
  • HRIS Management: Audit and update ADP HRIS data, maintain employee records, and run reports.
  • Recruitment: Support recruitment by reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks. Maintain job descriptions and assist with classification audits.
  • Administration: Provide administrative support to HR programs, draft and distribute communications, and manage the HR calendar and email accounts.
  • Performance Management: Assist with performance evaluations, onboarding/offboarding, and the creation of training materials.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, advise management on labor law compliance, and enhance employee engagement in unionized and non-unionized environments.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of HR experience, preferably in a coordinator capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with employee relations and HRIS systems (preferably ADP)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
