Job Summary:

We are hiring a Operations Controller who is responsible for providing financial support to our Operations to enhance profitability through detailed understanding and review of our Manufacturing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with CFO, COO, and CEO on providing financial leadership, support, and guidance for all direct & indirect operations and product profitability.
  2. Maintain responsibility for all Operating Cost Centers including compliance, budgeting, forecasting, & cost management processes.
  3. Collect customer-specific parameters including rebates, freight, configuration, and utilize data to report on customer profitability.
  4. Identify and support opportunities to drive productivity and cost savings.
  5. Have full responsibility for all Operating Cost Centers, including compliance, budgeting, forecasting, & cost management.
  6. Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing costs starting with the bill of materials, item costs, labor routings, labor rates, and overhead assignments.
  7. Report variances to set standards in a manner that supervisors and managers can understand and take corrective action.
  8. Analyze and model changes in product design, raw materials, overhead, manufacturing methods, etc., for effects on production costs.
  9. Analyze and report manufacturing efficiency variances and determine corrective action requirements, ensuring items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared in accordance with GAAP / IFRS.
  10. Estimate, track, and report costs associated with new product development and contract manufacturing partners.
  11. Develop, install, and maintain cost accounting methods and procedures.
  12. Carry out all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality and/or ingenuity.
  13. Oversee the completion of projects including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results.
  14. Serve as a technical resource to others in resolving complex problems, and orient, train, assign, mentor, and review the work of others.
  15. Support plant/corporate cost savings programs toward driving YoY productivity improvements.
  16. Review control procedures over accounting and financial activities, providing guidance to ensure that internal accounting controls are in place to protect company assets.
  17. Ensure an adequate system of internal control is maintained, and that general ledger accounts are correctly stated, maintaining SOX compliance.
  18. Oversee all inventory transactions and accuracy.
  19. Ensure financial controls are in place and followed, maintaining data integrity.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
  2. 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with plant managers and other business partners with an emphasis on cost analysis.
  3. Experience in a service environment.
  4. Experience reviewing and implementing internal controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  5. Good understanding of process standard cost accounting.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial matters to non-finance business partners.
  7. Proven record of success as a strategically oriented financial manager with knowledge of cost accounting, production planning, and operations analysis.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to seek resources as needed.
  9. Collaborative interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  10. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and drive process improvement.
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create complex financial models and spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables).
  13. Experience with ERP (SAP S4) system is preferred.
