Regular Twelve-Month Position;
Monday - Friday; eight hours/day; Split Shift: 6:00am to 10:30am then 1:30pm-5:30pm (three hour break)
$21.57/hour for 90 work day probationary period, then $23.97/hour

GENERAL DUTIES
Performs as working supervisor of a custodial operation.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of an administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Exercises supervision over custodial personnel.
Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and paid for by the District.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and playgrounds neat, clean, and safe at all times.
- Sweeps and cleans classrooms daily; cleans corridors each day as required.
- Scrubs, disinfects toilet rooms daily; performs flag duties daily.
- Opens buildings and checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open.
- Cleans and maintains all boilers, furnaces, and other building equipment.
- Has knowledge of painting, general repairs to plumbing, electrical, and all other maintenance being performed.
- Assumes responsibility for general security of the building; performs emergency duties of cleaning and building maintenance as necessary.
- Regulates temperature of the building; washes windows on the outside at least twice per year; performs yard keeping duties.
- Reports to administrator all damage, emergencies, repair requests, supply requests, personnel problems, and any other information requested by the administrator.
- Maintains a record of service to all mechanical equipment in the building.
- Remains on the school premises during duty hours and during other hours when state boiler regulations require the attendance of a licensed operator, also when administrator requests.
- Will be responsible for personnel training, supervision, follow-up performance checks, payroll sheets, substitutes, and other records pertaining to custodial staff.
- Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE
Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies; effective methods of supervision.
ABILITIES
Ability to plan, schedule and supervise work; to establish and maintain effective supervisory and work relationships; to communicate effectively; to deal with the public.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience in custodial work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience; Must have a boilers license in order to apply.
