Wirthwein is hiring: Quality Tech - 3rd shift in Fountain Inn

Wirthwein-Group is seeking a Quality Technician on 3rd shift for its facility in Fountain Inn, SC to join our team. The position will report to the Quality Manager. 3rd shift working hours are 11:00pm - 7:30am, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure product quality based on customer requirements and Wirthwein procedures, instructions and standards are met.
• Assist in maintaining records and documentation of the quality activities including but not limited to SPC charts, assuring they are accurate, reliable, and consistent with drawings, control plans, and work instructions.
• Demonstrate the flexibility and product knowledge required to support all other Quality Assurance activities.
• Statistically analyze quality data/results to facilitate problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Support and drive continuous improvement throughout the plant, including participating in 8D teams, Kaizen events, and 5S improvement.
• Assist in the investigation and determination of root cause and corrective actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
• Participate in APQP activities: FMEA/control plan reviews, test method development, PPAP submissions and revalidations.
• Assist the Quality Engineers with performance processing and machine capability studies, record statistical data and prepare reports for Engineering.
• Assist in the evaluation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance to external certifications, customer requirements, and Wirthwein/South Carolina Plastics policies, procedures, instructions and standards.
• Conduct internal process control audits.
• Provide support, evidence and improvement for customer and certification audits.
• Measure parts on the CMM.
• Write quality alerts, hold tags and update work instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:

• Must have computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of calipers, indicators, part specific gauges, internal performance test equipment.
• Understanding of injection molding.
• Excellent communication skills externally and internally, both verbal and written.
• Strong team player.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems, Statistical Process Control and blueprint reading.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office program.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some college or higher education preferred.
• 2 to 5 years' experience in manufacturing environment.
• 2 to 5 years' experience in injection molding preferred.
