The Leisure Program Director at Barnstable Recreation will lead the planning, organization, and coordination of a dynamic summer program tailored for children aged 6-13. This key role involves overseeing staff, managing daily schedules, and ensuring a safe and engaging program environment.
Qualifications:
- Currently attending college or a college graduate. - Extensive experience in summer programming, with a minimum of 3 years in summer programs or camps. - First Aid/CPR certification and a valid driver's license are mandatory. - Successful completion of a comprehensive CORI and SORI background check. - Additional certification in Concussion Training is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Strategize and implement a compelling summer program that caters to the needs and interests of children. - Supervise and support staff members at the program site, offering guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment. - Develop and uphold the daily program schedule with precision, ensuring all activities are executed seamlessly and punctually. - Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders, including parents, staff, and management teams. - Cultivate positive relationships by demonstrating enthusiasm, humor, patience, and adaptability in interactions.
Availability Requirements:
- Must attend Parent Orientation on June 14 and participate in Staff Orientation from June 24 to June 27, 2025. - Program dates: June 30 to August 15, 2025. Staff hours are typically from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM, with one early start at 7:30 AM per week.
