The Leisure Program Director at Barnstable Recreation will lead the planning, organization, and coordination of a dynamic summer program tailored for children aged 6-13. This key role involves overseeing staff, managing daily schedules, and ensuring a safe and engaging program environment.
Qualifications: Currently attending college or a college graduate. Extensive experience in summer programming, with a minimum of 3 years in summer programs or camps. First Aid/CPR certification and a valid driver's license are mandatory. Successful completion of a comprehensive CORI and SORI background check. Additional certification in Concussion Training is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
Strategize and implement a compelling summer program that caters to the needs and interests of children. Supervise and support staff members at the program site, offering guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment. Develop and uphold the daily program schedule with precision, ensuring all activities are executed seamlessly and punctually. Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders, including parents, staff, and management teams. Cultivate positive relationships by demonstrating enthusiasm, humor, patience, and adaptability in interactions.
Availability Requirements:
Must attend Parent Orientation on June 14 and participate in Staff Orientation from June 24 to June 27, 2025. Program dates: June 30 to August 15, 2025. Staff hours are typically from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM, with one early start at 7:30 AM per week.
