Restructuring amp Insolvency Associate

Job Overview A law firm is seeking a talented Associate to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex restructuring and insolvency matters involving distressed companies and parties. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients in bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court workouts, financial restructurings, loan workouts, and insolvency-related litigation. The team represents a broad spectrum of clients, including secured creditors, private equity investors, and trustees. Location Chicago, IL Duties Represent clients in corporate bankruptcies, financial restructurings, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, distressed M&A, and complex insolvency-related litigation. Advise on out-of-court workouts, bankruptcy proceedings, and litigation matters. Work closely with clients, business teams, and legal teams to provide legal strategies and solutions. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements. Assist senior attorneys in navigating complex restructuring processes. Develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Requirements 1-3 years of experience in corporate bankruptcies, financial restructurings, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, distressed M&A, or insolvency-related litigation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience in managing complex legal matters. Strong academic record with excellent writing and oral communication skills. Federal circuit court, district court, or bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the Illinois State Bar. Skills Expertise in corporate bankruptcies and financial restructurings. Strong writing, research, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
