The Tracy Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in fostering economic development, advocating for businesses, and creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs. Through networking events, business resources, and policy advocacy, the Chamber is committed to enhancing the prosperity and quality of life for Tracy’s residents and business owners. General Position Overview: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tracy Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the Chamber’s operations, programs, and services. The CEO ensures the Chamber’s mission to promote economic growth, support local businesses, and enhance community development is fulfilled. This position reports to the Board of Directors and serves as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization. Essential Job Functions: Leadership & Strategic Planning : ·Develop and implement the Chamber’s strategic vision in alignment with the Board of Directors’ goals. ·Provide strong leadership to staff, volunteers, and committees to achieve the Chamber’s mission. ·Act as the public face of the Chamber, advocating for business-friendly policies and economic development initiatives. Business & Community Engagement : ·Cultivate relationships with Chamber members, local businesses, government officials, and community organizations. ·Represent the Chamber at public meetings, networking events, and industry conferences. ·Work collaboratively with the city, county, and regional partners to promote economic growth. Membership Growth & Retention : ·Develop strategies to recruit, engage, and retain Chamber members. ·Ensure the Chamber provides valuable programs, events, and services that meet the needs of local businesses. ·Oversee marketing and outreach efforts to enhance the Chamber’s visibility and impact. ·Develop and manage the Chamber’s annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability. ·Identify and pursue revenue-generating opportunities, including sponsorships, fundraising, and grants. ·Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards. Program & Event Management : ·Oversee planning and execution of Chamber events, networking programs, and business workshops. ·Ensure that Chamber initiatives align with the needs of the business community and drive economic development. ·Evaluate and improve program effectiveness based on member feedback and industry trends. Qualifications & Experience : Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit organization, or business-related organization. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economic Development, or related field (preferred). Strong knowledge of economic development, public policy, and business advocacy. Proven ability and experience to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders, including business leaders, government officials, and community organizations. Willingness to pursue new ideas and challenge traditional thinking. Exceptional communication, public speaking, and networking skills. Experience in financial management, fundraising, grant writing and organizational growth strategies. Ability to lead and manage a team while fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Skilled in the use of Microsoft and Google suite of products, website management, social media marketing strategies, Canva and membership software. Working Environment & Physical Requirements : This position is an on-site position. Business hours are generally (9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday). This position must be flexible with their schedule provided the essential job functions might require some evening and weekend hours due to the activities of the Chamber. This position must possess a valid driver’s license since it will require traveling. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% standing, and 20% walking but can fluctuate depending on the Chamber calendar of events.
