Title: Automation Engineer


Job Summary:

The Automation Design Engineer is charged with conceiving, developing, designing, implementing, and maintaining automated manufacturing systems and processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Automation engineer can be assigned to lead automation technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Automation Engineer is responsible for the mechanical, electrical and control systems design of automated manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Specify and integrate robotics, vision, and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Work with Automation Technicians to assemble, test and trouble shoot the custom-built automation systems.
  • Collaborate other design engineers to prepare cost estimates for automated manufacturing systems and research new manufacturing technologies.
  • Document and train manufacturing personnel for the use of custom-built automation systems.
  • Assist in ECR/ECN process for prototype and new products.
  • Assists in different stages of Advance Product and Quality Process (APQP) including PFMEA and Control Plan creation.



Required Skills/Abilities :

  • Machine design using 3D CAD software.
  • PLC and HMI Programming
  • Electrical Design and Documentation
  • Robotic Application and Programming
  • Vision System design and programming
  • Application of Servo Systems
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical Trouble Shooting and Program Debugging Skills



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Must be a team player who is well organized, with good communication skills, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
