This position directs all tower technicians on the job site and ensures the timeliness, quality, and safety of the project. Candidates must have 3+ years of tower technician experience and the ability to manage crews.

Qualifications:


  • Must have a minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a tower tech with the demonstrated ability to lead and manage crews
  • Must have NWSA Foreman Certification or ability to get it ASAP
  • Stacking and Plumb and Tension experience a BIG PLUS!
  • Must be computer literate and comfortable navigating systems on various devices
  • Experience installing equipment for major carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon or T-Mobile
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and MOPS
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a thorough drug and background test
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and climb for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including nights and weekends
  • Fall Rescue certification required (will provide training).
  • 3+ years of experience climbing and working on Towers.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive or ride in a truck for long periods of time.
  • Experience with GSM, UMTS, Carrier Adds, and LTE.
  • OSHA Safety standards certification is preferred (will provide training);
  • Must be able to pass a physical if required to drive.
  • Experience testing and working with Fiber.
  • Skilled at installation, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems as they relate to equipment installation and failure.
  • Experience climbing towers 100+ feet tall, with a 50 lb. load;
  • Periodic air travel will be required.
  • Strong leadership ability preferred.
  • Flexible to work shift work to include maintenance window and weekends as needed.
  • Able to crouch, kneel, bend and twist throughout the workday.
  • Frequent travel to client markets.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet driving eligibility requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects, ensuring work is done safely, efficiently, and according to plans. 
  • Coordinating and scheduling labor, equipment, and materials, and ordering and managing hired equipment. Identify materials and tools needed to complete the project
  • Commitment to a Mindset of Safety to ensure proper use of all safety equipment, adherence to all safety procedures to include crew certifications, quality and technical review of equipment, work and team. Lead Daily JHA's.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits, and inspecting work for quality and safety
  • Read and understand CD’S and RFDS so you can make sure radios and antennas are set according to build plans.
  • Plan each day’s tasks and delegate to crew members
  • Maintain and track all customer and company assets including trucks, trailers, test equipment, tools, PPE, safety kits, material, etc.
  • Interact professionally with subcontractors, safety personnel, and customers
  • Accurately complete travel expense reports and timesheets on time
  • Clear Communications with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, and communicating instructions to workers
  • 411 / Locate Coordination
  • Addressing any on-site issues or conflicts to resolve issues
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring that close outs are complete and acceptable to the client.
  • Preparing reports and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Able to operate equipment as needed
  • Proficient testing and working with Fiber. Sweep, PIM, and Fiber Test
  • Interpret the alarm conditions on the network and implement repairs and restoration plans to ensure minimal service disruption and impact to customer.
  • Follow detailed method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Knowledge of sector/antenna configurations with respect to jumper and coax routing, RET settings and cabling, and fiber routing.
  • Train other Tower Technicians and Apprentices.
