Position Summary: The Sr. Utility Specialist will play a pivotal role in facilitating communication and coordination with utility providers to support the development and deployment of EV charging infrastructure. This position ensures that all utility-related aspects of our projects are managed efficiently and align with project timelines. 


Responsibilities:  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Francis Energy and utility companies for EV charging projects. 
  • Facilitate the application and approval process for new utility service connections, upgrades, and relocations. 
  • Monitor and track utility coordination progress to ensure timely completion of utility-related tasks. 
  • Review utility plans, service agreements, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance. 
  • Maintain detailed records of utility-related activities, ensuring all information is accessible and up-to-date. 
  • Analyze project requirements to determine utility needs, including power supply and grid capacity. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, construction, and site acquisition, to align utility coordination efforts with overall project goals. 
  • Identify potential utility-related challenges and provide recommendations for resolution. 
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing utility connections and operations. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility providers, fostering effective communication and collaboration. 
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on utility coordination progress and milestones. 
  • Coordinate site visits, inspections, and meetings with utility representatives as needed. 
  • Support project teams in resolving utility-related issues that arise during the development process. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends, utility regulations, and best practices in EV infrastructure development. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations and goals. 

 

Required:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 2+ years of experience in utility coordination, utility operations, or a related role. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. 

 

Preferred:  

  • Experience in the EV charging industry, renewable energy, or utility infrastructure. 
  • Familiarity with utility service application processes and regulations. 
  • Knowledge of power systems, electrical distribution, and grid capacity. 
  • Prior experience working with engineering or construction teams.
