Position: Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer

Location: Allegan County, MI

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 p/y + bonuses

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer will play a vital role in enhancing manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal production efficiency, and implementing innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with expertise in composite manufacturing and experience in using data analytics to foster improvements. This position requires collaboration with various teams, including engineering, operations, and project management, to promote excellence and meet production standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Refine and optimize composite manufacturing procedures to boost efficiency and enhance product quality.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical techniques to inform and guide process improvements.
  • Conduct experiments and evaluations to validate manufacturing processes and support product innovation.
  • Identify and address manufacturing challenges by applying experimental results and best practices from the industry.
  • Contribute to the development of new products by integrating innovative solutions in manufacturing and design.
  • Manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution in a dynamic setting.
  • Stay updated on advanced composite processing methods, including but not limited to injection molding and extrusion.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 4-8 years of experience in process improvement or manufacturing engineering, particularly with composite materials.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software applications and analytical tools.
  • Strong foundation in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to manage evolving priorities while handling multiple projects efficiently.
  • Practical experience in manufacturing, R&D, or a related environment.
