Job Title:Enrollment Recruiting Specialist/Head Wrestling Coach

Summary:This position serves as an enrollment central point of student services for both current and prospective students. This position travels to high schools and college fairs for recruitment purposes and is responsible for providing individual campus visits, corresponding, and conducting follow-up communication with prospective students and parents. Along with understanding admissions processes, academic advising, and implementing retention efforts. Develops and maintains a professional relationship with high school counselors and staff.

The Head Coach position serves as an integral member of the athletic department including its operations and events. Provides daily oversight of their assigned collegiate athletic program. This position is responsible for the recruitment and retention of a full competitive roster. Follows all Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD), Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations in administering the program. Supports the development of student athletes. Coordinates travel, game schedule, inventory, and maintenance of equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides academic advising, recruiting, registration, and support to current and prospective students including maintaining a current understanding of all education programs. Works with prospective students and families through the recruiting cycle to ensure all paperwork is received, processed, and all questions are addressed; assists students and visitors in person, by email, electronic means, and over the phone. Assists and educates students on program requirements, graduation, and transfer and articulation information. Develops and maintains a broad knowledge of college student services and refers students for specific assistance. Travel & Recruit to assigned high schools and college fairs. Assists with all aspects of college and departmental events and activities including but not limited to campus tours, career events, orientations, Panther Preview Days, and financial aid workshops. Helps train and supervise student workers and ambassadors. Understands the financial aid process to assist students with common questions and assists with filling out the FAFSA. Assists in planning, organizing, and administration of admissions policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to motivate students toward positive experiences while enrolled. Organizes recruiting events for special populations and programs.
  • Provides an environment for successful recruitment and retention of student athletes. Supports the development of student athletes’ success in the classroom and in their respective sport. Coordinates travel, game schedule, and game management. Provides for program needs within allocated budget, including inventory of all equipment and uniforms. Assists with maintenance of team and college equipment. Develops on and off campus relationships that support the success of the position. Assists with program and department fundraising. Ensures compliance with all IVCCD, ICCAC, and NJCAA rules and regulations. Serves as an integral member of the athletic department including its operations and events such as providing game day management duties and driving teams to sporting events as needed for all athletic programs. This position requires working with NJCAA Letters of Intent, Budgets, and purchase orders. This position will be expected to be involved with set-up for their computation, SID work for their sports, and some administration duties. Attends IVCCD and ICCAC meetings as required.

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Preferred; Playing experience/college coaching or other coaching experience required. Student Services experience preferred.

Base Wage:$43,500-$58,000 -actual salary will be based on experience and education.
