Job Purpose
Lead, drive, and manage the external financial reporting process, define accounting policies, and coordinate the annual audit, serving as the technical accounting resource for the company. Support investor relations function, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information used in investor communications. Partner across the business with key stakeholders such as general accounting, tax, FP&A, operations finance, commercial finance, external auditors, and other internal and external business partners in support of deliverables.
Essential Functions
Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing financial reporting and accounting policy function, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals through ongoing feedback
Manage the annual and quarterly 10-K/10-Q equivalent preparation and filing process including the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, ensuring compliance with reporting and disclosure requirements
Conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions and ensure adherence to GAAP; prepare accounting position papers and memos over significant non-routine transactions including leading annual goodwill impairment process
Lead the adoption of new accounting pronouncements including understanding the technical accounting rules, documenting accounting conclusions, and managing the implementation
Manage quarterly review and annual audit process with our external auditors including the preparation of audit committee presentations
Support investor relations function in preparation of investor presentations, investor script calls, and investor Q&A
Support M&A activities including leading purchase accounting and fair value valuation on acquisitions
Support timely execution of internal controls across the accounting function
Interface with various groups including the finance leadership team, outside public accountants and attorneys, external tax firm, internal legal, and investor relations
Stay current with new accounting standards, regulations, and best practices in financial reporting
Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
8+ years of progressive accounting experience including mix of SEC reporting and technical accounting
5+ years of public accounting with CPA designation (big 4 preferred)
Deep technical accounting knowledge of SEC reporting regulations and US GAAP
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience working with complex processes and driving change
Effective project management skills, including challenging the status quo and identifying needs to re-assess existing approaches and processes
Exceptional problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $103,695.00 to $155,542.00 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
