The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $108,664 to $135,830.
Job Summary
The Employee Relations Manager role primarily focuses on maintaining positive relationships between employees and the company by addressing concerns, managing conflicts, and providing guidance to managers on employee matters. This position will play a leading role to promote a healthy work environment, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, employment laws, and regulations. The successful candidate will investigate complaints and workplace grievances, oversee performance management, provide manager support, mediate disputes between employees, and where appropriate, facilitate mutually agreeable solutions.
This position reports to the Director – Employee Relations.
Key Responsibilities
Providing manager support including, but not limited to, advising managers on best practices for employee relations, resolving team conflict, addressing performance issues, and issuing disciplinary actions, up to and including terminations.
Overseeing performance management, providing feedback to managers and employees, and developing and implementing performance improvement plans.
Conducting thorough and timely investigations of complaints of harassment, discrimination, and other workplace complaints.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, employment laws, and regulations.
Managing multiple, complex employee relations cases.
Liaising with legal counsel and compliance as required.
Implementing conflict resolution strategies to promote a professional work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
BS/BA in relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years in employee relations (equivalent experience will be considered).
Highly proficient at both effectively organizing time to meet deadlines and producing clear, well-structured written communication.
Experience investigating and managing multiple, complex cases related to harassment, discrimination, compliance, and workplace issues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills include active listening, confidence, respect, and the ability to consider the audience.
Ability to present reports and trainings in a concise and efficient manner.
Working knowledge of key federal and state laws that govern the workplace, including anti-discrimination laws like Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), as well as laws regarding harassment, retaliation, wage and hour regulations, family and medical leave, and other aspects of employment practices.
Experience in using basic Microsoft programs, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in using case management software (i.e., ServiceNow), Workday, and SAP.
