The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for a Director of Operations, Women's Basketball. This position is to provide support to the Women's Basketball coaching staff in all phases of the program. This position must also uphold the mission of the University of Virginia athletic department and the institution and be in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules.

Essential Functions Coordinate team travel logistic for home and away games. Assist with the development of annual travel budget and monitor all travel expenses in a fiscal year. Coordinate all land and air transportation and hotel arrangements. Arrange for team meals. Daily Operations

Work with the coaching staff with the flow of daily correspondence and day to day operations of running a sport program. Work with coaches to develop short and long range planning. Makes recommendations to coaches to improve/change current policies/procedures Coordinate Academic Support and Monitoring of Academic Progress Serve as the liaison to the Director of Compliance for admission procedures and assist in filing with the NCAA Eligibility Center for all prospective student-athletes. Coordinate team activities Prepare monthly calendar for team events, practices, community service, marketing initiatives and media relations. Coordinate and organize the end of year banquet and senior send off for each season. Schedule and oversee all logistics of events. Coordinate Summer Camps Create and distribute brochure for annual summer camp. Record all camp enrollment, process camp payments and participate in on-ice activities associated with the camps. Alumni/Donor Correspondence Send out email newsletter about coaches, previous games, future games, UVA players in the pros, etc. Additional Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4+ years') related experience Experience; Some working knowledge of the sport program to be supported Licensure: None

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

About the Position
