Position Overview:
A highly skilled Process/Product Manufacturing Engineer is sought with expertise in composites manufacturing and CNC machining to support business development and technical quoting activities. This role plays a critical part in bridging engineering, pricing, and client communication, ensuring seamless project execution within aerospace and defense manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- RFQ & Cost Estimation (75%) : Work closely with business development teams to provide technical insights, pricing support, and estimating for aerospace manufacturing projects.
- Customer & Engineering Liaison (25%) : Act as a bridge between clients and internal engineering teams, ensuring technical requirements align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Blueprint & Design Review : Analyze complex blueprints and engineering drawings, working with design teams to ensure build-to-print accuracy.
- Supplier Coordination : Collaborate with raw material and tooling suppliers to assess lead times, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
- Project Management : Oversee 5-10 concurrent projects, ensuring on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency.
- Data Analysis & Process Optimization : Utilize cost estimation tools and production data to improve manufacturing efficiency and pricing accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in composites manufacturing and CNC machining within aerospace or defense industries.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints.
- Expertise in build-to-print manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Comfortable working with cost estimation, quoting, and data analysis for labor and materials.
- Hands-on engineering experience is a plus.
- Background in fast-paced, high-growth environments such as startups or agile aerospace firms.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to be direct, concise, and effective in technical discussions.
