A Houston area law firm seeks to hire a Senior Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in these practice areas: Insurance Defense; Personal Injury; Wrongful Death; Premises Liability. Excellent compensation package includes a base salary from $130K-$170K, plus a bonus and great benefits. The base salary amount depends on both the number of years of experience in the above practice areas, and the years of trial experience as first and second chair.

Our Firm has handled significant defense cases involving all aspects of tort law. The Firm works with insurers and insureds to properly defend the lawsuit while providing value to the insured and the insurer. Our Firm has defended wrongful death and serious injury cases, as well as property damage claims. The work involved construction defect, malpractice, premises liability, professional lines and trucking/transportation.
The Senior Associate Attorney is responsible for supporting the trial manager and trial team on all assigned cases. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, to include personal injury, wrongful death and/or premises liability cases. Experience taking depositions and mediation experience needed. Candidates must be licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Recent, hands-on experience as first chair, or supporting a senior attorney as second chair, in an active trial is required. The firm's office is in Greenway Plaza. Responsibilities:
- Manage cases from intake to completion
- Act as first, or sometimes second, chair on cases assigned to you
- Work closely with the trial team and trial manager in preparation of assigned case(s)
- Prepare and support preparation of all documentation for use at trial
- Ensure all documents are prepared on time and accurately
- Perform research as required to facilitate the creation of trial documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
Qualifications:
- License to practice in the State of Texas
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in insurance defense, to include personal injury/wrongful death and/or premises liability cases
- Hands-on and provable trial experience as first chair, or second chair in support of a senior attorney assigned to a case
- Recent trial experience as first or second chair
- Ability to create documents and other work product that is on time and "trial-ready"
- Ability to work with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to work overtime (nights, weekends, holidays) as the needs of the trial dictate
Requirements:
