Asset Management Analyst – Multifamily Real Estate
The Asset Management Analyst will play a key role in supporting the asset management team in overseeing a diverse multifamily portfolio. This individual will analyze property performance, conduct financial modeling, and assist in the execution of strategies to enhance asset value and optimize investment performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating property performance by analyzing financial statements, rent rolls, occupancy trends, and operating expenses.
- Develop and maintain financial models, pro formas, and sensitivity analyses for asset valuation, cash flow forecasting, and investment decision-making.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify operational efficiencies to maximize revenue and reduce expenses.
- Support budgeting and reforecasting processes by collaborating with property management and accounting teams.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess positioning, rental trends, and economic drivers within target submarkets.
- Assist in the execution of value-add strategies, capital improvement projects, and lease-up initiatives.
- Prepare investor and executive-level reporting, including asset summaries, variance analyses, and investment performance updates.
- Participate in lender and investor reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with financial covenants and debt obligations.
- Support acquisition and disposition activities by assisting in due diligence, underwriting, and investment memos.
- Utilize data visualization tools and business intelligence software to enhance reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in asset management, real estate finance, investment analysis, or a related role.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with real estate software such as Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management platform a plus
- Understanding of multifamily property operations, leasing, and financial reporting is preferred
- Ability to interpret and analyze market data, financial statements, and industry trends.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
