Our esteemed luxury goods client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director Consolidation & Tax Compliance to join their finance team. The Director of Consolidated Reporting & Tax Compliance is responsible for overseeing the financial consolidation process across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing the preparation of consolidated financial statements. It includes leading tax reporting and compliance efforts, handling interactions with external auditors and tax authorities, and maintaining the internal control system.

Additionally, the role involves supervising the accounting department, driving automation initiatives, and mentoring team members to foster a high-performance culture.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation, ensuring accuracy and compliance (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, coordinating with local teams for timely reporting and intercompany reconciliation.
Lead the annual financial audit, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring local compliance.
Support the CFO in preparing financial documents for internal and external stakeholders.
Supervise the parent company’s accounting team, optimizing accounts payable/receivable and driving automation initiatives.
Manage tax risk, compliance, and reporting across jurisdictions with external support.
Ensure proper documentation of intercompany and third-party transactions for tax compliance.
Lead tax audits, including responses to IRS inquiries and controversy management.
Stay ahead of tax regulations, optimizing processes while ensuring compliance.
Forecast the effective tax rate and perform variance analysis for planning.
Own and enhance the internal control framework, mitigating risks and enforcing best practices.
Develop and mentor team members through training and career development.

Requirements:
10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and tax.
CPA is a plus
Expertise in multi-entity global consolidation.
Strong technical skills in accounting, financial consolidation, and tax.
Must have Big 4 or a similar firm is a plus.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, macros); NetSuite experience is a plus.
Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
