We are in search of a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Network Operations Team located in Santa Barbara, California. Please apply only if you are already based in the area or are open to relocating. This role is a full-time, on-site position. The perfect candidate will have comprehensive experience in IP switching and routing, along with a keen interest in broadening their expertise in enterprise/provider-grade IP/WAN engineering and cybersecurity for the internet.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing and monitoring Impulse Central Offices, Data Centers, Points of Presence, and HQ infrastructure in accordance with service level agreements. • Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of any network and voice application issues. • Conduct router upgrades for customers in an organized manner. • Adhere to facility security protocol and complete other maintenance duties. • Configure customer equipment before deployment. • Act as a contact for escalated issues. • Be available for on-call duty as required.
Qualifications
• At least three years of experience managing complex enterprise and carrier-level IP/WAN networks. • In-depth knowledge of Cisco/Juniper/Adtran routers and switches. • Familiarity and expertise in LAN, WAN, Routers, Switches, and other network hardware. • Skilled in IP routing and switching, including VLAN configuration, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and BGP. • Understanding of Firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, or Fortigate). • SASE/SD-WAN experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of Network Automation tools such as Python, Ansible, and Napalm. • Proficiency in L2VPN/L3VPN technologies (LDP/MPLS/EVPN/VXLAN, etc.). • Thorough understanding of LAN technologies (802.1Q, QoS). • Working knowledge of VOIP technologies. • Possession of the CCNA certification is mandatory, and CCNP-CCIE is desired.
