Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr Skills : Software/Tech Industry Experience About Company / Opportunity : My client is a global AI start up headquartered in San Francisco. Due to their continued growth (over $100 million in funding), they are looking to hire a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team as soon as possible. An ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience working at a software company (ideally a start up but not required). This will be an individual contributor role to start so leadership experience is not necessary. This is a full time, permanent position on a hybrid basis (3 days a week onsite). You will report to the Head of Finance. Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with external accounting firms to manage the month-end close process. Over time, take on the responsibility of transitioning accounting functions from external management to internal oversight. Supervise accounts payable, employee reimbursements, accounts receivable, and other aspects of working capital management. Work alongside the Head of Finance to develop a strategic financial systems roadmap and lead or contribute to the rollout and implementation of these systems. Partner with the Head of Finance and the executive team to review and establish accounting policies (such as Revenue Recognition) while ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606). Take the lead on various ad-hoc projects in areas like Cost of Revenue, Stock-Based Compensation, and Treasury, handling unplanned tasks as they arise. Prepare the company for its first audit, ensuring all necessary preparations are made for a successful process. Must-Have Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 7+ years of accounting experience at a software company Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting policies including revenue recognition, stock based compensation and transfer pricing. Experience consolidating financials for multi-entity & multi-currency businesses Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable ERP system and experience implementing such an ERP Exceptional attention to detail Eagerness to learn about state of the art multi-modal foundation models Willingness to come to our San Francisco office at least 3 days per week Nice to Have Skills
CPA (does not need to be active) Experience at an early stage startup Seniority level
