HR Business Partner, Dallas, TX. $1B+ Food Manufacturer

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to leadership and management in driving organizational success by providing expert guidance and support in the areas of employee relations and Union labor relations. The HRBP’s primary focus is to foster a positive and productive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, ensuring compliance with Union labor laws, and strengthening the relationship between management and employees. This role is pivotal in aligning HR practices with the business goals, promoting a culture of respect, fairness, and accountability, and minimizing risks related to employee grievances and Union labor disputes. Responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies compliant with Federal and State Laws and aligned with US overall business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Monitor/ collect information of regulatory updates and ensure legal compliance of all personnel matters (e.g. policies, notice, filing) with federal, state or local legislation.
  • Review and implement employee handbook, Collective Bargaining Agreement and various human resources policies, ensuring legal compliance of company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and meet with Union representatives for any grievance, complaints or negotiation required.
  • Interpret contractual agreements for employers and employees engaged in collective bargaining or other Union labor relations processes.
  • Advise management on matters related to the administration of contracts or employee discipline or grievance procedures.
  • Manage the employee termination process including exit interviews, communication of final check requirements and other general responsibilities.
  • Advise team members and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate and thorough employee information in personnel files and in HR software module for active and terminated employees.
  • Responsible for accurate employee status related to FMLA, FFRCA.
  • Oversee employee communications, troubleshoot problems in a timely manner and seek third-party advice as necessary; answering questions from employees and acting as a mediator in facilitating resolutions.
  • Employee Relations Management.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance to stakeholders in handling difficult or complex issues.
  • Conduct investigations, ensuring issues and/or concerns are identified, thoroughly investigated, and resolved properly in accordance with the company’s established procedures and guidelines.
  • Work closely with Plant Manager to serve as a channel of communication to receive complaints, claims reports from the employees through Open Door Policy or other complaint procedures.

SKILLS / OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • Computer literacy with the following software: Windows 7, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to understand government regulations and policies.

  • Ability to process data and create pivot tables, graphs, and charts to show trends and statistics.
  • Ability to prepare presentations in a professional and dynamic manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in HR or related fields is a plus.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive Human Resource experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Union Labor relations are highly desired.
  • Schedule flexibility. Work hours may vary depending on projects or assignments.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by supervisor or management.
  • Collect and organize data, reports, documentation for audits and other filing/reporting requirements.
  • Works with the Plant Manager to develop and implement training materials and systems.
