Job Description Winston Law Group, P.C.—an employment law firm representing employees—has an immediate opening for an associate attorney. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following (Other Duties May Be Assigned): Drafting pleadings, motions/oppositions, discovery requests and responses, mediation briefs, and other routine litigation documents Appear at court hearings and argue motions Take and defend depositions Experience with litigation in state and federal court procedures Participate in the formulation of litigation strategies and have primary day-to-day handling responsibility for a limited number of cases Draft settlement documents including settlement agreements, class notices, and proposed orders and judgments Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing with the California State Bar Knowledge of state and federal court procedural rules At least one (1) year of prior litigation experience Must have experience with summary judgment motions Must be a team-player, but be able to work independently on assigned tasks Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook Excellent professionalism and communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills Prior experience with drafting pleadings, motions/oppositions discovery, case management statements, notices, and other legal documents The firm offers health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid time-off among other benefits.
