We are seeking an experienced architect with a strong background in residential infill projects. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for urban design and a keen eye for transforming underutilized properties into vibrant residential communities. This role involves collaboration with a cross-functional team and requires the ability to guide a project from initial feasibility through construction administration.
The primary skill set we are looking for is a design-based skillset but intend on broadening the candidate into assisting with development-related tasks.
Architectural Responsibilities :
- Lead the architectural design of projects, varying from single-family homes to mid-size mixed use developments, ensuring alignment with company goals and community needs.
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, real estate professionals, and other stakeholders to create innovative design solutions that are functional and aesthetically pleasing.
- Oversee all phases of architecture, from schematic design through to construction documentation and administration.
- Maintain compliance with local zoning, building codes, and regulations while advocating for design excellence.
- Mentor junior design staff, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development.
Development Responsibilities :
- Assist the Development Director with coordinating development efforts, typically surrounding best use of site, creation of project program, etc.
- Assist in preparing pro formas and investment marketing materials.
- Assist with all necessary predevelopment due diligence work, including coordinating surveys, appraisals, title work, and environmental assessments.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of project teams, which may include other architects, engineers, contractors, attorneys, lenders, and investors.
- Manage multiple tasks daily and deliver under tight deadlines.
- In addition to supporting the Director of Development, periodically support the Director of Construction on assignments related to various projects.
- Perform various ad hoc assignments.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s degree beneficial.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a specific focus on residential infill projects. No development experience is expected or required.
- Valid Architectural license (registered architect) in Colorado, or ability to quickly obtain one.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp, etc.) and graphic presentation tools.
- Strong understanding of residential building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
