Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Engineer plays a key role in supporting and optimizing complex IT environments, ensuring smooth operations across multiple technology domains. This position focuses on the delivery of enterprise-level services, including analysis, administration, and continuous improvement of infrastructure, applications, and related systems. This position key focus is The Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Network Management branch ensures the successful operation and security of the Client’s network systems and services, including LANs, WANs, wireless infrastructure, and cloud integrations. This role focuses on administering, configuring, troubleshooting, and modernizing network infrastructure to maintain service availability and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for IT services in facilities planning, operations, and ongoing maintenance.
- Analyze, design, test, and administer storage systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and data integrity.
- Develop, implement, and manage server systems, including capacity planning, patching, and performance optimization.
- Administer network infrastructure and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, efficient, and highly available connectivity.
- Plan and execute user support initiatives, including issue resolution and the development of support documentation.
- Oversee the administration of databases, websites, and web applications, ensuring robust performance and security.
- Coordinate pre- and final-production readiness activities to validate system integrity and adherence to established standards.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvement strategies.
- Conduct cloud engineering tasks, from solution design and testing to daily administration of cloud-based platforms.
- Gather and analyze system performance metrics, leveraging monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential problems.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for ongoing operational tasks and ad hoc support requests.
- Facilitate technical meetings and working sessions to coordinate response, recovery, and documentation for service interruptions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by assessing emerging tools, technologies, and best practices for potential integration.
- Lead or support incident response efforts, coordinating with multiple teams to restore service operations in a timely manner.
- Maintain comprehensive records, diagrams, and documentation related to system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT management, and/or other IT degree (engineering, math, and science related degrees are acceptable) OR a High School Diploma or equivalent plus four additional years of relevant experience.
- Eight years of relevant experience with demonstrated ability to support enterprise-level IT services.
- Hands-on expertise with server system analysis, design/testing, and administration (Windows and/or Linux environments).
- Proven skills in network engineering and administration, including routers, switches, and wireless network components.
- Experience with cloud engineering, design/testing, and administration on platforms such as Azure or equivalent cloud providers.
- Familiarity with authentication services and technologies such as Active Directory, domain trusts, and smart card authentication.
- Proficiency with common enterprise monitoring and ticketing tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, ServiceNow).
- Practical knowledge of database management and basic web application support processes.
- Solid understanding of security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
