Job Summary:

The Engineering Documentation Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the documentation associated with engineering projects. This role ensures that all engineering documents, including specifications, drawings, and reports, are systematically organized, validated, and controlled throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams to facilitate documentation processes, ensuring compliance with both internal standards and external regulations.


Job Duties:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements for new or existing products and mechanical systems.

• Work closely with engineers and CAD designers on various engineering projects.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the mechanical design team.

• Develop concepts and ensure designs align with client needs and engineering standards.

• Maintain project timelines and ensure deliverables are met on schedule.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and standards for mechanical design deliverables.

• Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor and SolidWorks to create detailed drawings that meet client specifications.

• Design mechanical systems in compliance with regulations, industry standards, client requirements, and company guidelines.

• Focus on manufacturability and assembly efficiency while ensuring electrical system reliability, availability, and maintainability.

• Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and analyze results for performance validation.

• Deliver project documentation and design materials to relevant stakeholders.

• Provide ongoing support throughout the manufacturing and construction process to ensure adherence to design specifications.

• Identify and resolve issues that arise during manufacturing, recommending effective solutions.

• Demonstrate professionalism and confidence when interacting with clients and executive-level decision-makers.

• Oversee change control processes to manage design modifications effectively.

• May require occasional travel or availability outside of normal business hours.


Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering which has been approved by the accreditation board for engineering and technology (ABET).

• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.

• Demonstrable knowledge of UL 891 Switchboards, UL 1558 Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear, UL 67 Panelboards, UL 857 Busway, UL 1008 Transfer Switch Equipment, UL 62368/60950 Information Technology Equipment, as applicable is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in the design of electrical power distribution systems is preferred.

• Experience with programs like Solidworks, AutoCAD Inventor & Vault as well as MS Office applications.
