The Associate Director for Employer Engagement serves as the primary contact for employers and leads the department’s employer outreach team. The associate director will also provide a centralized and strategic vision, connecting new and existing employers across our multifaceted institution. The position provides leadership to and supervises three full-time staff — two coordinators and an administrative assistant. The team is responsible for implementing a range of programs and services including career and graduate school fairs, job and internship postings, student employment support, a shadow program, and employer networking and engagement events. Job Duties
Lead the employer relations area within the Career Services department, supervising daily work of the team while also directing multiple programs and services. Oversee outreach and engagement efforts for current and new employers, ensuring a robust and diverse set of employment opportunities for students and graduates. Coordinate policies and procedures for employer recruitment activities and services. Develop an engaged employer advisory board, providing meaningful engagement and feedback opportunities that improve operations and outcomes of the area. Oversee the department’s sponsorship programs and recognition efforts, securing opportunities for employers and other constituents of Career Services to provide financial and in-kind support for the department’s programs and services. Assist in developing and managing the university’s student employment program, supporting a user-friendly application process, integration of career readiness best practices, and recognition/appreciation programs. Support and serve on the department’s leadership team assisting the director in overall management and strategic planning of the career center. Represent the department and division on university committees and workgroups. Seek out and participate in relevant professional development and community engagement opportunities to continue developing knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the profession, staying current with the field.
