The Resource Foundation is a U.S. nonprofit that seeks to empower disadvantaged communities with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to improve their lives. Acting as the bridge between U.S. donors and Latin American nonprofits supporting communities in need, The Resource Foundation promotes sustainable agriculture and the environment, education and job skills, women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, healthcare, and cultural programs.
The ideal Executive Director candidate will lead The Resource Foundation with strong donor development skills, solid organizational capabilities, and robust team leadership experience. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the face of the organization to corporate and individual donors, building on established relationships while creating new partners to support the organization’s mission to empower disadvantaged communities across Latin America with the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to improve their lives. The Executive Director will ensure TRF's fundraising, fiscal management, marketing, operations oversight, and programmatic objectives are implemented seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Attract, build, broaden, and maintain existing and new relationships with high-value donor clients across all donor segments
Oversee the financial status of the organization, formulate and execute a comprehensive annual plan and budget addressing marketing, branding, operations, and development strategies to enhance revenue from major donors, foundations, corporations, individuals, and other sources
Set financial priorities accurately to ensure the organization is operating in a manner supporting the needs of the programs and staff while ensuring TRF's long-term success
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to refine and implement TRF'S strategic priorities and ensure there is alignment with the organization's core mission
Ensure the delivery of high-quality services to TRF’s stakeholders while managing for current and future growth
Rationalize the delivery of programs aligned with TRF’s mission through new and existing partnerships
Provide strategic vision, support, and inspirational leadership to all staff
Create and promote a positive, multicultural work environment that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff while supporting consistency throughout the organization's strategy, operational methods, and program data collection
Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and maintain strong internal communications
Qualifications
Minimum of a BA, ideally with an MBA, MPA, or JD At least 10 to 15 years of overall professional experience At least 5 to 8 years of prior nonprofit experience including a demonstrated history of donor development Fluent in verbal and written Spanish a must; proficient in verbal and written Portuguese a plus Experience working in Latin America in philanthropic, commercial, and/or humanitarian oriented roles Familiarity with CRM databases is a significant plus Significant board development, fundraising, marketing/branding and fiscal management experience A financially savvy and politically astute leader with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making Excellent coalition-building skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing fundraiser, relationship builder, and spokesperson
