TITLE: Event Assistant
HOURS: 10-20 a Month, Nights and Weekends
REPORTS TO: Roosevelt Center Staff
SUPERVISES: Assigned Volunteers
WAGE: $17/hr
WORK LOCATION: In person in Red Lodge, MT at the Roosevelt Center
JOB SUMMARY: The Event Assistant will help to ensure that paid events go off without a hitch. The Roosevelt Center hosts a wide variety of events like conferences, staff retreats, family reunions, birthday parties, art classes, concerts, live theater, and more. The Events Assistant will help set up and tear down equipment, while communicating with event organizers to ensure a great experience for guests. The Events Assistant will work as needed to cover events on the Roosevelt Center schedule.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR ALL FOUNDATION EMPLOYEES:
Strong written/verbal communication, time management, organizational, and analytical skills required. Must be able to interact with clients and public in a pleasant, collaborative, empathetic, informed, and professional manner. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of Foundation business and remain positive or neutral on subject matters of importance to the community. Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff, community-based organization representatives, and other professionals. Use discretion to make and implement decisions independently and as part of a team. Identify and analyze problems and provide resolutions. Accept, act upon, and offer constructive criticism. Coordinate meetings, phone calls, and arrangements with parties both outside and within the organization. Set up and maintain filing systems, track work hours in ClickTime, and maintain an accurate Outlook Calendar. Attend staff /team meetings, professional meetings, and trainings as requested. Treat all people with dignity and respect. Treat all clients with absolute confidentiality. Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties. A desire to work for a non-profit is a huge plus. SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
To perform the job successfully, the Event Assistant will be responsible for:
Set up, and tear down of events. Clean event space as needed Be on site during events to answer any questions and provide assistance to event host as needed. Implement follow-up systems and processes. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds periodically. Work cooperatively and effectively with staff and volunteers. Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks. Willing to learn audio/visual set up. Provide hospitality to all guests and help create a welcoming environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION SKILLS:
