:

The Senior Managing Clerk provides advanced support relating to all phases of calendaring process, docketing, maintenance of deadline and manages electronic and paper filings with the courts, as well as service of process and other interaction with the state and federal courts. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the administrative and procedural aspects of complex legal filings and requires substantial knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, procedures, and court filings, including electronic filings. The Senior Managing Clerk substantial knowledge of New York Civil Practice Law & Rules and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently calendaring firm litigation, bankruptcy and agency matters and all related deadlines and scheduled events.Mentoring and training team members while performing quality assurance and quality checks on work completed.Assisting Chief Managing Clerk in administering any department databases or applications and conducting ongoing effective firm training programs and presentations on docketing systems, policies and protocols to attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistantsResponding to requests from attorneys, legal administrative assistants, and paralegals regarding calendared events and deadlines, court procedures, rules and filing processesMaintaining consistency in following all best practices, procedures, and protocols to ensure the accurate entry of deadlines, events, and docket entries.Communicate directly with court/administrative offices to confirm rules and procedures.Conducting research on agency, court and judges' rules and assisting attorneys and paralegals with the interpretation of those rules.Maintain accurate attorney filing credentials, create court admission accounts for attorneys and troubleshoot credential issues relating to NextGen ECF, NYSCEF, NJ eCourts and Connecticut eServices.Occasional trips to court to file, retrieve, and deliver documents; coordinating with vendors and couriers to arrange for documents to be served on certain entities.Qualifications:

4 to 5 years of progressive experience working in a Managing Clerk or Managing Attorney Department, and/or Litigation Docketing DepartmentSubstantial knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, procedures, and court filings, including electronic filingsSubstantial knowledge of New York Civil Practice Law & Rules and Federal Rules of Civil ProcedureConsiderable experience computing deadlines for state, federal and appellate courts and in government agencies across the countryExperience with rules based calendaring software, preferred.Ability to research, analyze, and summarize issues in writing; critical thinking skills to support analysis and summary of findings with a strong commitment to quality of work.A service-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with attorneys, staff, and other members of the Litigation Docketing DepartmentProficient skills/knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as Adobe PDF Creator (or equivalent); experience with MS Access or similar DB softwareMinimum Education:

Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or experience/education equivalent

In accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law and New York City Human Rights Law the pay range for this position in New York State is $86,966 to $130,676/yr. These ranges are specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
