Mark Thomas is hiring a Hydraulics and Hydrology (H&H) Project Manager to join the Engineering team! As the H&H Project Manager, you will serve as the team leader for a variety of hydraulics and hydrology project tasks to include drainage design plans, no impact analysis, mitigation studies, and other advanced H&H analyses. This position is also responsible for managing/supervising the preparation of drainage reports, feasibility studies, and public presentations. Along with collaborating with design engineers, this role will include management, marketing, subconsultant coordination, project/task scheduling, plan production oversight, preparing cost estimates, and client interaction.
The H&H PM is a "seller-doer" role, and production and coordination efforts are reduced with the balance of the role being the actual management of the projects. This position develops their own client base through business development activities and a higher level of client care, developing long-standing, positive client relationships. The supervisory responsibilities include the training, development and mentoring of direct reports, and to assigned staff to responsible projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads project teams to successful completion of quality deliverablesManages quality, budget, and schedule of responsible projectsEngages with all aspects of project proposals & participates in client interviewsGenerates sufficient business to sustain and grow responsible groupEffectively communicates (verbal and written) successful strategies and technical solutions to staff, clients, and sub-consultantsAchieves financial success & utilization targetsPerforms the necessary functions and tasks to manage direct reports effectivelyPerforms quality control measures and audit quality control measures for project workQUALIFICATIONS
8 - 10 + years progressive experience & responsibilities in design, delivery, and coordination of civil engineering projects with an emphasis in Hydraulics & HydrologyBS/ MS in civil engineering and California PE licenseTechnical understanding of hydrology and hydraulics and proficiency in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Bentley products, ArcGIS, XPSWMM, AutoCAD Civil3DAdvanced understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programsSolid understanding of surface water hydrology and collection system hydraulicsA diverse Water Resources background is preferredKnowledge of & experience with CALTRANS a plus; knowledge of Location Hydraulic Study (LHS)Proficient in scour calculations and rock slope protectionProficient in MS PowerPoint and MS ProjectKnowledge of overall project management and project deliverable processesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated understanding of project financials and metricsThorough knowledge of local, state, and federal drainage requirements and proceduresPrevious experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on hydrology and hydraulics projectsBENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The annual base compensation range for this position is $126,000.00 - $180,000.00.
