EHR Systems Analyst

Compensation: $21.45 to $26.80 per hour (based on years of experience)
Summary:
TheEHR Systems Analyst position is responsible for in-depth knowledge of ourcurrent EHR system, Athenahealth. The EHR Systems Analysts will lead the effortto support our organization EHR needs and serve as a key clinical IT resourcefor the implementation, maintenance, and modification of the EHR as well asuser-support and training. Theanalyst functions as a member of the EHR team and in collaboration with bothbusiness and clinical users, as well as other IT teams to support our clinic-widevision of comprehensive patient care in the most efficient and cost-effectivemanner. The Systems Analyst will complete routine system administration andmaintenance. Coordinates and completes special projects. Provides end-usertraining and ongoing support. Evaluates and updates best-practice workflows. Troubleshootsand resolves application and workflow issues. Engages with EHR vendor and other third-party vendors for EHR solutions and support. Leverages system functionality tosupport clinical processes and organizational goals. The EHR Systems Analyst must be people-oriented with goodcommunication skills to work effectively with clinical and administrative staffto understand the problem(s) from a technology and/or application perspectiveand work through the issue to resolution.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. EHR Maintenance, EHR Project Management, EHRUser Support and Troubleshooting 80% of position
Participate in building and maintain aservice-oriented culture within The Corvallis Clinic. Participate inmaintaining the Brand of the clinic and embracing the new cultural norms Gain an in-depth knowledge of the EHR softwareas well as clinical workflows to translate patient care needs into EHRfunctionality Perform other duties within the scope of thisposition as assigned 2. EHR Maintenance:
Perform administration of EHR user accounts,access permissions, and roles assignment Create new Provider profiles, includingconfigurations and enrollments Build, deploy and maintain clinical templatesand customizations Participate in the development and testing ofupdates and new features Build and configure new departments Attend vendor and user group conferences,webinars, and meetings when applicable Stay up to date with new features, Spring,Summer and Fall Release events, and biweekly updates 3. EHR Project Management:
Lead or participate in new EHR Initiatives andprojects Coordinate response to requests by departmentsfor EHR system modifications and enhancements Collaborate with EHR Committee, physicians,staff, consultants, and vendors to complete projects Identify areas for improvement, developsolutions, and offer suggestions for workflow redesign 4. EHRUser Support and Troubleshooting:
Train new employees and providers on EHR system and general IT practices and policies Track and resolve issues submitted to EHR support Tier 1+ Conduct both classroom style training and one-on-one training sessions as needed Communicate EHR updates, new release documentation, and outages to appropriate user groups Develop and maintain documentation for trainingand process improvement (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, HelpfulHints, Frequently Asked Questions); training materials to be developed toreflect standardized best practice workflows as documented Work with EHR vendor for support, projectdeployment, EHR upgrades, and to report and resolve technical issues SecondaryResponsibilities:
Helpdesk and Deskside Support 20% of position
Assist with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Helpdesk support calls, elevate any Tier 3+ Helpdesk support calls as needed Education,Licensure and Experience:
1. One or more of the following required: a combination ofeducation and experience will be considered.
Three (3) years relevant EHRexperience Bachelor's degree with one(1) year relevant EHR experience Associates degree with two (2)year relevant EHR experience Knowledge and Skills:
2. Abilityto work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability. 3. Exceptionalcommunications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels ofclinical, administrative, and support staff. 4. Conceptualand practical understanding of various training techniques for users withvarious learning styles. 5. Abilityto customize and configure systems to support clinic workflow and clinical bestpractices. 6. Abilityto evaluate and analyze system features and functionality for problemresolution. 7. Abilityto maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekendhours. 8. Abilityto understand and document clinical workflow and identify areas forimprovement. 9. Knowledgeof industry best practices related to patient flow and staffing roles. 10. Exceptionalcomputer skills, particularly in all Microsoft Office software.
