We are Hiring at UofL Health-Medical Center East's Endoscopy DepartmentLocation: 3920 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY, 40207Shift Options: PRN, 1st shiftAbout UsMedical Center East opened in 2003 and, for nearly 20 years, has provided patients with an outpatient care experience defined by patient comfort, privacy, personal service, and leading-edge technology. Home of the Center for Excellence in Womens Care, the facility has earned distinction as being the first in Louisville to receive accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR) for breast MRI, as well as Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation. The medical center offers a full range of services, including 24/7 emergency care, chest pain observation services, breast MRI, 3D digital mammography, laser eye surgery, diagnostic and medical imaging, outpatient surgery, orthopedic care, gastroenterology care, urology care, primary and specialty care, rehab services, laboratory, and infusion services.Our MissionAs an academic health care system, we will transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care.Responsibilities:Job SummaryUnder the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner, the endoscopy tech will assist during GI procedures. This role provides support for the GI team with room set up, tear down, scope reprocessing, sterilizing, packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, specimen collection, and assisting doctors and nursing staff as directed. The tech will provide direct patient care during and after procedures. An endoscopy tech will maintain sterile field as applicable and will float out and assist with patient care in pre-op and PACU areas as needed.Area of focus:Endoscopy
Qualifications:Required QualificationsHigh school graduateBasic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred QualificationsOne (1) year of experience in cleaning, packaging, and processing of sterile supplies and demonstrated knowledge of infection control
One (1) year of experience working in an operating room or endoscopy suite
