The Product Software Development team at nLIGHT is charged with delivering world class software and firmware for our rapidly growing laser products business.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated with an excellent track record of performance and creativity in software development and automation development.
They will contribute to the architecture, design, development, testing, and delivery of our laser products and supporting infrastructure.
They would join a small team with a big impact, requiring good team work in a dynamic environment.
FUNCTIONS
Interface with colleagues, partners and customers to understand and manage feature requirements, expectations, and priorities
Work from requirements to create a solution meeting product testing needs
Develop robust code used in demanding 24x7 production environments worldwide
Utilize good software development processes and practices to produce and maintain high quality software
Document appropriately and advocate for best practices
Assist and support internal as well as external customers with software and system issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ year (MS) or 4+ years (BS) in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Experience with Linux development, build infrastructure and deployment
Knowledge with embedded systems or real-time systems a plus
Skilled in C or C++
Familiar with C# and the .NET infrastructure
Comfortable with bash, PERL or Python
Electronics knowledge a plus – read schematics and wiring diagrams; use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators
Familiar with software development process
Accomplished troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong in OOA and OOD
Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Attention to detail and an ability to absorb and assimilate information rapidly
Proficient with Microsoft SW: Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Automation or Test Automation Systems
Build and configuration management for code release
ARM architecture
Microsoft Visual Studio toolchain
GNU toolchain, include make and config scripts
Scripting with Python
Computer Skills – git or other SW configuration management systems
