Linux/Unix
Systems Engineer
for the Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies.
*Position is contingent upon contract need*
*Must be open to working any shift*
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the pre-migration activities necessary to close gaps
Forecast backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
Design solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types server-based applications based on Linux, and VMware operating systems.
Optimize end-to-end system performance and migration workflows.
Conduct data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information.
Define migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community.
Establish migration plans for complex n-tier applications and services.
Gather needed data to forecast long-term capacity and performance requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):MUST HAVE A SECRET GOVERNMENT CLEARANCE
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant System Administration (additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)
•Great communication skills (to work well in a team environment)• Proficiency with enterprise-class server-based services such as: directory services, collaboration tools, monitoring tools, and virtual infrastructure.• Knowledge Management skills to follow and create documentation
• BA/BS in a technical or managerial discipline
• Strong knowledge of networking, storage, cyber, and data center facilities a plus.
Certifications Required:
IAT Level II
