Work hours and duration: 20 - 40 hours/week from Dec/Jan 2024 - Apr/May 2024

Overview:Your internship will focus on gaining insights into some of the financial reporting and tax processes within an insurance company.

Responsibilities:

Assist on projects and with accounting close.Assist with the preparation and filing of state and local tax returns for a multi-tiered organization, including property and casualty insurance and banking related companies.Participate in the analysis and completion of various processes.Review existing standard operating procedures and update where gaps exist.Assisting with annual compliance and regulatory work, including preparing state filings.Engage in self-led continuous improvement project, empowering interns to drive innovation.Qualifications:

Actively pursuing or within 1 year of receiving a secondary education degree with a related field of study, i.e., Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.Previous work experience, or internship experience.Proven ability to collaborate and work with a team.Demonstrated solid oral, written and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.Demonstrated organization skills.Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
