Configuration Management Specialist
to support a
NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD or Hampton, VA.
Responsibilities:
Provide team support and/or leadership CM (configuration management) support to a GSFC selected project implementing CM processes and procedures that support the procurement, development, integration, test, and delivery of NASA project assetSupport, develop, and implement CM procedures required to manage the planning, identification, controlling, auditing and status accounting of all CM products in accordance with the GSFC ISO/Quality Management SystemMaintain and manage the CM Data Management system in support of all CM and data management activitiesMaintain and manage configuration control of the project baseline documentation, distribute documentation/changes for review and approval, as required, and incorporate approved changes, as requiredSupport and/or serve as the Configuration Control Board (CCB) secretary responsible for coordinating and managing all CCB activities including generation of CCB agendas/minutes, distribution of documentation for review, final disposition and implementation, and tracking of any related actionsManage the review, disposition, and distribution of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) itemsProvide drawing and engineering order supportProcess the review, approval, release, and closure of work order authorizations (WOAs) produced throughout lifecycle of instrument developmentReview, evaluate, recommend and implement new technology/enhancements to the CM tool and CM processesPrepare for and support assessments and audits, as requiredDevelop training material and conduct training classes, as requiredRequirements
Requirements:
Must be able to support/establish and lead a Configuration Control system for an existing project and provide support to government contract configuration and data management tasksExperience with coordinating, recording, and managing engineering drawlings preferred.Knowledge and understanding of CM and WOA procedures, processes and NASA compliance guidance and documentation is a must.Must be detail-oriented and able to meet strict deadlinesDemonstrate analytical and problem solving skillsProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently with very little functional guidanceAbility to collaborate successfully with a project team including project management and technical leads, and support project disciplines including Systems Engineering, Safety Mission Assurance, and Instrument and Observatory teamsMust have knowledge and/or experience developing, documenting and implementing processes and proceduresIndividual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job. Some travel may be required.Education and Experience:
